CTW Members Michaela Posted September 9, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted September 9, 2003 Am doing a club P.A. at a night called Human Zoo in the Key Club, York Way, King's Cross London. Human Zoo was voted Pete Tong's favourite club of the week in last week's Hot Tickets Magazine and also best club of the week in Time Out Magazine. Would be nice to see some CTW's there for moral support, as this is my first live gig for over a year. You can see the flyer here: http://www.breedar.co.uk/kinkydisco/ Michaela (Kinky Disco)

CTW Members big_ee69 Posted September 28, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted September 28, 2003 Members Review. Big_ee69 No doubt the 1500 people who handed over their 15 quid, and crammed into Heaven, getting down to PVD’s consistent, and excellent Apple Mac assisted trance grooves had a wild time, last Friday. Those of us lucky enough to have been at The Key instead, were quite simply blown away. Human Zoo (monthly) hosted our Own Michaela’s band Kinky Disco; City Rockers (FC Kahuna et al) Main Man Damian Lazarus; and super producer and re-mixer, Ewan Person. The night started when a load of Michaela’s mates, with me an Michaela as the ClubtheWorld representatives, gathered at the pre-party at Babushka. Human Zoo residents were dj’ing there too. With an eclectic mix of 90’s house, and soul, with the latest French Kiss re-mix, and other classics thrown in. Despite the fact that she was performing at 1.00am, Michaela was her usual lovely bubbly self, and made everyone feel very welcome. Soon midnight was approaching and we all wandered down to The Key, which was once Bagley’s. Taken over by The Cross, they have really made an effort: Signature leather sofa’s, understated décor, but mainly on the downstairs dance floor: underfloor disco lighting per studio54. Which was extremely trippy. We were all on Micheala list, so got in for £6.00, instead on £10. Shortly after 1.00am after the downbeat electro suddenly stopped, up stepped Sharon, (Michaela) one half of the Kinky disco duo, with her producer, who proceeded to give us half an hours worth of top flight soulful, dancy and wild electro & acid inspired tunage. All live mixing, and heart achingly good vocals from Micheala. Sassy and sexy, she carried the 300/400 strong crowd with oodles of stage presence, and played a blinder. When not making love to the mike stand, She sashayed around it to have long pull of her Rolling Rock, or stopped to dance with a lucky member of the crowd. All to soon their five songs were over, and despite many shouts of ‘more’. Our own true 'Pop Idol's' left the stage, and Ewan Pearson let loose some of the best electro / acid that I have heard in years. The glamorous retro dressed, evenly mixed crowd lapped it up. The underfloor lighting came into it’s own as tune after sparse tune, deep baselines, and acid beats rolled over and made everyone smile and dance. More deep electro acid stylee from Damien Lazarus, and much more dancing, saw us into the early hours, and sadly home. I haven’t had such a great night out in months. Just a pity more CTW’ers couldn’t make it. Nuff respect, and congratulations to everyone who came, and performed, and organised. ian/Big_ee
CTW Members Michaela Posted September 30, 2003 Author CTW Members Share Posted September 30, 2003 Shucks...am all embarrased now Ian! Certainly was a great night. How mad is the flashing dancefloor. Wierd but very cool, particularly when there was loads of smoke (looked like strobes coming from under the floor ) Hope to catch up with the rest of you guys soon. Was looking for the details about the weekly meet-up in London but can't seem to find it in any of the posts - is it not on tomorrow (1st October)?
