microclubbing Is Microclubbing the way forward?

Strongly agree with Kether.

 

There's been a big backlash against the whole "superclub" thing recently, and like most people I resent extortionate entry fees, big toilet queues, crammed bars, cocky bouncers and over-inflated drink prices.

 

Having said that, I have to confess that I'm still a sucker for that "big dancefloor" feeling - totally absorbed in a great tune, and a no-holds-barred light display, in the middle of a massive crowd of attitude-free people!

i am a massive fan of smaller nights, on the basis that you tend to get a far friendlier crowd, and up and coming djs who put far more effort into their sets.

 

I do however like to go to one of the big events once in a while, especially if i know a lot of my mates are going to be there, and also if people i know are travelling to the night.

These larger nights appeal more to me on the premise that i can catch up with people i havent seen for a while, and also talk to people that have differing experiences with clubbing.

I consider myself lucky to live in Leeds, where i spend a lot of time at various nights that are run by my friends, but this engenders a vrey specific viewpoint on the clubbing lifestyle and experience. Meeting people who perhaps only go out once a month, but place an enormous amount of effort into making that one night exceptional, is a very interesting experience
