even elvis still gets remembered ffs.

how would you like it if people remembered your birthday, only for others to slate you for it? two words grow up

at the end of the day, tony modelled the scene we know it 2day. and thats all down to a certain club promoter called lawrence malice.

end of rant

ps. thanx lisa for fighting my corner, so to speak iluvu.gif

Your commemt about HH, well the same could be said of all genres

errrr.... no. not at, say, a prog club, a techno club, or a drum&bass club am i almost guaranteed to hear the same five-year-old tune every week.

but that's the wider issue I have with HH - the fact that a certain number of tunes still appear on most bedroom DJs' mix CDs even years later, half of them by TDV. why is there no innovation or creativity here?? don't get me wrong, i love going to certain HH nights, i've had a brilliant time and [most of] the tunes are good; but what i can't stand is the constant wish to re-live and bring up the past. come on, get creative - move forward, not back.

and to compare tony de vit to elvis is just a joke.

i never compared tony to elvis. mixmag did that.

btw.gifpeople still worship elvis, and if i'm not mistaken, still gets in2 the charts even to this day. remember JXL?

there will always be a demand for certain "musicians" material, even years after they died. i'm sure that there'll be a demand for johnny cash material now that he's sadly passed away. it's the way of life.

these tunes r played so much cos there anthems! bit like cafe del mar, out of the blue, madagascar, etc etc.....

rubbish excuse.

as i've said before, the same thing doesn't happen in prog, house, techno, d&b, etc. you don't hear the same tunes, week-in, week-out in those clubs.

thats probebly because those genres are ALOT bigger than the hard house scene and people are producin tunes for those genres all over the world! where as hh is mainly big in the UK and well most of the tunes that get released here are total shite. wink.gif

If he hadn't died, you wouldn't reckon any of TDV's tunes to be classics. What a complete insult to "real" classic tunes.

Stop arselicking TDV just because he's dead and he happened to do a few half-decent tunes in the early days of your favourite genre.

TDV = over-rated

going to a hard house night reminds me of being at a kiddies' disco. hands up who wants a big tune (...again)
