Advice required RE headphones

ur best bet is to find out what frequency’s u want emphasised most. i find that diff DJ headphones have varying sound quality.

my preference is the senheiser hd25 as they r crystal clear with the percussion. if found other head phones to be a little less 'precise' in that range yet more receptive in the sub/bass regions.

then basically just go out and give em a try.

money wise i think u'll be looking at between £80-£120 for some top quality profession headphones thumbs.gif

i'm sure some 1 will correct me if they dissagree or have a better approach

Sony MDR-V700 are the one's that a lot of people use - and they are good, as are the Pioneers HDJ's, about the same price as the sonys. I didnt rate the sennheisers at all - they make good hi-fi headphones but i dont like their dj ones.

Personally I would go for the sony's in term of sound quality, comfort and value for money as you can get them for about £80 if you shop around.

I use a pair of Technics RFP200's - Cheap at £20

At the end of the day a pair of headphones isn't worth spending a fortune on! they all do the same job!

Complete bolox matey!!

Spend as much as you can on headphones!!! get either the top range pioneer or sony 7000 - i have used both and would reccommend them!!

My Sony's (cant remember model until I get home) were £70 reduced from about £120, I got them in Tottenham Court Road, London - can get some superb bargains there and can banter.

I would agree you should spend as much as you can afford on headphones. I've used mine primarily for playing synths over mixing but its as important in mixing i would assume to hear everything thats going on.

phones should be thought of like speakers - would you compromise on quality on your speakers ?

Well, i appear to have got my choice down to the sony's, Pioneer's, Technics and senheisser (sp).

At the mo i'm favouring the technics or the pioneers, but can anyone tell me the pro and cons of them?

Forget all that, just ordered the Technics RPDJ1210. Purely and simply because i've just seen a picture of Yoji with a pair round his neck, If they're good enough for him, they're good enough for me! (and because miss loud uses them!!)

If i dont like em i'll sell em.
