Hard House

I have always been one of the 1st to slag off Hard House in the past, As some of you are aware i did used to produce it and had my own label. Although i was never merged into the scene, I did listen to it occasionally. However after producing it for a while, I tired of it and totally removed myself from any contact with it.

I then joined ClubTheWorld, got to know a few DJs, got sent CDs, listened to them, got to know the tracks again etc. I would listen to them pretty often but never really appreciated it that much.

However, I have to say after my recent visit to Smile I must say that my views on it have changed so much. I had forgotten that nearly all dance music is best appreciated in a "live" environment. I loved all the music played at both Smile and Twist, by all DJs that played. There will always been some stuff that will grate on me, but the Djs from this site that played, put across a great spectrum of the sound.

 

Just thought I would share, thanks to all the DJs for re-openeing my mind. I wont say I have been converted as I will never be true to one specific genre. But I think it has helped me somewhat.

I agree - its always nice to know there are some decent tunes buried somewhere beneath all the shite that gets released!!!

 

think the social aspect of what happened @ smile is what made a great night into an amazing night though!!

That is wicked to hear Liam - I like to think I can appreciate most genres, even if I don't like them! Even though I will never be madly in love with Techno, I have recently started to get on with it, and quite like some of the more driving stuff
