Some DJ's take the piss with their [censored] demands.

Try it from a promoters point of view - its very hard to make any sort of money when djs are charging anywhere up to £3000 like for Carl Cox. The advantage of booking Carl Cox for example though is that he is guarenteed to pack the place out!

Fair point but thats absolutely no excuse. When I'm a DJ I'll DJ for no more than £10. thumbs.gif

Don't aggree totally... Sometimes you can have a producer who is [censored] behind the decks... This would then put people off going to an event where said producer was going to play...

no, i meant the average Producer's efforts at producing (not DJing) is worth more than an average DJ's efforts at DJing

IMO

I think it is down to how they attract. ie a footballer the teams earm Millions, it is only fair that this is reflected in the players pay as that is who people have come to see! (although how can anyone be worth 20million??) on the DJing front for big names I think 500 is a fair figure for an hr and halfs work!, but certain DJ's who get £2500 per set!!!!!! shocking!

Agreed. They might not be "worth more" in money terms, and whether they can DJ is a separate issue, but it takes much more skill to produce.

And where would the DJs be if there were no producers...?

If you book through their agent or DJ agency, you can expect to pay

tax

booking charges etc etc

but if u book directly, u can expect to pay a lot less, or cheaper!
