CTW Members Mad_Clubber Posted September 25, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted September 25, 2003 An age old debate I know but always interesting to hear what people have to say. I personally use Technics but have heard a lot of good things about Vestax so which deck does the business for you? Maybe another name is successful for you like Numark who have released what they believe to be a serious competitor to the 2 with the TTX premium turntable but what do you think? Let us know! Which deck is 'The Daddy' ????????????? You Decide!TechnicsVestaxAnother Quote Cool Site = www.technics1210.com Cheap music = www.carbonmusic.co.uk

CTW Members Mad_Clubber Posted September 26, 2003 Author CTW Members Share Posted September 26, 2003 I think vestax look like toys too much and whilst the pitch control is more extensive you cannot beat the reliability of the good old Tech's! CTW Members Mr Happy Posted September 26, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted September 26, 2003 its not ne better of worse than the top decks on other brands tho. other brands have caught up with technics the only selling point technics have now is the standard club instillation. u ahve to bare in mind that when technics released the 1210s, there wasnt much compatition around at all. and technics gave [censored] loads of thier decks away free to the major clubs and the rest is history. they cornered the market early and are reaping the benefits, thats all Quote Mr Happy's fishy fish MangaFish munch munch MSN & e-mail - mangafish@mangafish.net AOL - MangaMorgan Online mixes - http://www.mangafish.net/mixes/

CTW DJs Andy Whitby Posted September 28, 2003 CTW DJs Share Posted September 28, 2003 Mr_Happy said: u'll be saying u dont use the kaos pad just cuz it looks to 'space agey' LMFAO!! Happy m8y, its a known fact within the djing scene kaos pads are shite, voted by most if not all djs as a tacky gimmick, u are aware u have to rub ur finger over the pad to create any effect, can u really imagine doing that in a club, trying to remember which way to rub to make that cool 'whoooooooooooosh' noise u thought u had perfected. And the technics/vestax argument is so stale. if clubs were designed from scratch today then they would have vestax and numarks in. But they are not and the industry stardard are technics, this is what ur going to play in when ur in a club. CTW DJs LittleMissLoud Posted September 28, 2003 CTW DJs Share Posted September 28, 2003 Agree with Whitby on this one. I think it's snobbery and unwillingness to try something new that keeps Technics at the top. In my eyes, they are very reliable, and the pitch is very precise, but the Vestax/ Numark stuff now have so many more features. Even when Technics' brought out a new model, it's features were just gimmiky in my opinion, without any real extra features over the Mrak 2. Quote I'M HUNGRY!
