An age old debate I know but always interesting to hear what people have to say. I personally use Technics but have heard a lot of good things about Vestax so which deck does the business for you? Maybe another name is successful for you like Numark who have released what they believe to be a serious competitor to the 2 with the TTX premium turntable but what do you think? Let us know!

Which deck is 'The Daddy' ????????????? You Decide!TechnicsVestaxAnother

I think vestax look like toys too much and whilst the pitch control is more extensive you cannot beat the reliability of the good old Tech's! flipa.gif

ur presuming that vestax arnt as stable or reliable as technics. imo they r.

you ahve to bare in mind that rival brands have had a loooong time to bring thier products up to the 1210s standards while technics have been sitting on thier arses.

as for the looks. what does it matter what the turntable looks like? @ the end of the day DJing is about the music. next u'll be saying u dont use the kaos pad just cuz it looks to 'space agey' rolleyes.gif

one thing i will say tho - as much as i love my vestax, i have a DJing gig comming up soon (next month lol) and i will DEFINATLY want some time behind a mates 1210s before going live infront of a crowd. thats the only downfall of other brands, thier not in 99% of clubs and thats what looses them the business. not thier specs/prices/durabilety.

vestax (pdx2000) notworthy.gif

i find technics very limiting in what u can do with em compared to the vestax

ultra pitch aside, i do use the reverse button in my mixes as well as the variable motor speed.

plus i love the extra bite the vestax have other technics. not spent much time behind 1210s admittedly, but when i limit myself on my vestax to what the 1210s can offer i get very baord very quickly frown.gif

its not ne better of worse than the top decks on other brands tho. other brands have caught up with technics

the only selling point technics have now is the standard club instillation.

u ahve to bare in mind that when technics released the 1210s, there wasnt much compatition around at all. and technics gave [censored] loads of thier decks away free to the major clubs and the rest is history.

they cornered the market early and are reaping the benefits, thats all

LMFAO!! Happy m8y, its a known fact within the djing scene kaos pads are shite, voted by most if not all djs as a tacky gimmick, u are aware u have to rub ur finger over the pad to create any effect, can u really imagine doing that in a club, trying to remember which way to rub to make that cool 'whoooooooooooosh' noise u thought u had perfected.

And the technics/vestax argument is so stale. if clubs were designed from scratch today then they would have vestax and numarks in. But they are not and the industry stardard are technics, this is what ur going to play in when ur in a club.

Agree with Whitby on this one. I think it's snobbery and unwillingness to try something new that keeps Technics at the top.

In my eyes, they are very reliable, and the pitch is very precise, but the Vestax/ Numark stuff now have so many more features.

Even when Technics' brought out a new model, it's features were just gimmiky in my opinion, without any real extra features over the Mrak 2.

I'M HUNGRY!
