Windows98 help needed URGENTLY!!!

Ok, Basically for the last 3 days Ive been trying to get on the net but every time I load AOL I get an Illegal operation message and this information -

 

 

WAOL caused an invalid page fault in

module KERNEL32.DLL at 015f:bff7b9e6.

Does anyone have any idea what all that is about?

 

What is Kernel32.dll? Is it a major part of win98? Can it be deleted and win98 still run? Can I still use the net if I delete it???

Its an important part of the OS as far as I know, don't delete it!! You may need to re-install Win98 again, over the top of your current install.

Well this is another problem I have!!

 

I cannot re-install Win98 as my cd-rom drive doesnt work (Dunno why but my pc just dont pick it up) and I dont have a boot disk on floppy!

 

So Im [censored] basically!

 

Unless someone can sort me a boot disk?

k32 thingy is a central part of the O/S. like a piston.

The kernal is the backbone of windows. You can't fix it. You have to reinstall mate. Don't be such a fooking cheep skate and pay the 25 quid for a new cd drive innit.

it may yet be a problem with aol. i know this sounds like a standard support brush off but try removing all trace of AOL from your PC and reinstalling it?
