I don't expect lip-syncing or anything, but it looks lame to me! i've never watched anime that does take itself seriously.   you have to bare in mind that there are different styles to anime. some of the more adult cartoons draw the characters in great detail.   the kids stuff isnt really ment to be anything more than light hearted fun

I don't expect lip-syncing or anything, but it looks lame to me! <shrugs> ah i understand now. like laurence said there are different types of anime with their own didferent style of drawing and detail. what you just described sounds like Dragonball Z/ Sailormoon style anime. i was thinking more "grown up" stuff like neon genesis evangelion, saint seiya, ...
