CTW Members Phil rr Posted September 27, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted September 27, 2003 sort of trademark trance sounds van dyk uses, is very similar to some psy trance sounds. like, for example, imagine a constant chord in the background. now make that chord 'flash' on and off in time with the beat (like 8 times a second or something). psy trance has constant sounds 'flashing' like that, and it goes a long way to creating the 'bitty' sound effect. CTW Members LiquidEyes Posted September 29, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted September 29, 2003 Sort-of see what you mean, but not sure you can attribute that sound to psytrance originally...? You can recreate that sort of effect with even the most basic synth - just a LFO linked to a filter, synchronised with the beat.
