i have the film score to american beauty on CD. i just love the ambiance of it

Whilst not actually a film score as is, Oakenfold's Perfecto Fluoro has some wicked tunes from flms..

 

Barbers Adaigo for Strings from Platoon, Miscere from The Mission, Mery Christmas Mr Lawrence from Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence.....all classics

erm yeah - but i'm on about film scores (the music they original music they played int he film to add the atmosphear) rather than cd's with songs on inspired by the film (which is just a money spinner at the end of the day)

not a great film, but the score has some cool tunes on it - Lost in Space soundtrack.

film scores don't include the script do they?

 

i've got (wait for it) the score to star wars. (6 cd's)

 

it's quality. if you know the film well enough you can imagine watching the film as you hear it. what makes it even better is you notice extra bits in the music because you're only listening to it, which makes it even richer. or something.

^ olli wisdom (the spacetribe guy) did a psytrance track with the ominous 'empire' theme from star wars...

 

i can't, however, remember what it's called.

The music on that CD is the original music from the films. For example, Barbers Adiago for Strings is played in Platoon when the helicopters are taking off after the Viet Cong attack and Willem Defoe is left behind...the very same piece of music is played on the cd complete with the gun fire in the background......granted it is a very commercial cd but the music taken from the aforementioned film scores are originals not remixes etc.
