ooops, my bad - i never really come across how i intend to - same at work - just one of my human flaws. I am a member just like the rest of you and entitled to 'lose it' and not make myself clear. If this was a real company/business i might take a bit more care but the whole site in voluntary based so you get what you pay for i guess.

My comments werent meant to sound like that - they were just 'top of the head' thoughts which I wanted to say in the 'random bollox' thread.

 

If this were in serious or comments & suggestions i may take a little more care I guess.

 

What I mean is - "I miss the old days and the old people, but I also love meeting/talking to a lot of the new people. I and others consistently let a few spoil it for a few and the only defense I have as to why I keep going on and on and on about it is because I care about the site, the people and the community I think it should be going forward. Hardhouse is great, Funky House is great, Trance is great, EVERY genre is great - music is great. Some music genres attract different age groups, some people in certain age groups dont like mixing with other people in other age groups - maybe there is a way of solving this problem within the web site, maybe there isnt - but i'm bored of myself and others moaning about how it used to be - its time for us to ALL be PRO-ACTIVE"

Sorry if it ain't really the issue here, but how can you say Funky House is pop music? I love my funky house, US Garage and Deep House, all of which I loved before getting into the Hard Stuff, and still do.

 

Admittedly Funky house, are more accessable in many peoples' eyes than something that bangs along at 150 bpm with an acid line screeching through it, but does that make it commerial?

 

So we have had the likes of Superman Lovers, Shakedown etc in the charts. We have also had DJ Sammy and Shy FX in the charts - does that mean all Trance or Drum n Bass music is 'pop'. No, because in pretty much every music genre (apart from the 'it's so cool cos it's underground' Death Chant Gabba), there is a more commercial side, and a more 'underground' side

whilst u mention dj sammy and then mention trance, most top trance producers dont call that trance but pop music utilising the trance sound to make a quick buck

my comment was actually referring to what is designated as "funky" house.

 

I thoroughly enjoy listening to deep/vocal/soulful/electro etc house music, but i strongly object to such tat as the Supermen lovers and that truly offensive Kings of Tomorrow Finally remix being considered as serious dance music.

 

Those of you who attend "proper" house nights will not be lsitening to "funky" at all, but various different forms of true house music.
