What other rock music do you like Happy?

i have no idea what is rock and what isnt. my biggest qibble against the stuff though is that it always sounds over distorted with the heavy guitars and the sort. alot of the american youth-type bands i've heard (blink 182, linken park, etc) dont seem to be as distorted and more melodic so i tend to lean towards this kinda sound (although i dont think its classed as 'rock')

 

to be honnest though - i'm open to listen to anything at least once

Must admit, I'm not quite clear where "rock" ends and "metal" starts.

I find a lot of the supposed "heavy" (very thrashy/distorted/shouty) stuff quite cheesy.

 

I recommend Rage Against The Machine: they haven't done many albums but they were quite funky as well as thrashy. Kind of a hip hop / metal cross-over. The first album was a classic - very "tuneful" riffs, incredibly funky basslines, "intelligent" rap.

 

Also recommend the Foo Fighters. Check out their "Colour and the Shape" album - again, quite loud and thrashy, but still tuneful and interesting. "Everlong" (track 11) is one of my favourite tunes ever.

Saw u2 live in concert a year or so back, they were AMAZING...one of the best live acts I have ever seen

U2 have been in the business for years now. a good concert does take years to perfect just like a good DJ does.

 

imo skill and tallent in any kinda of performance can only get you so far. Experence is vastly under rated.
