you seem get a 'tantrum'.

When did I get in a 'tantrum'?

The only thing I find frustrating is when people express their opinion without giving any reasoning.

If you would like to know the reasoning behind any of my opinions, then please ask away.

Every time I point out somebody's assumptions on this thread, they seem to come back with a comment like "well there's no point discussing it".

I have asked you a question Andy, care to answer now, how do you think it should be & delt with??

What do you think she should be entitled to, if anything??

Less than £400k, that's for sure.

I never said I had all the anwers. But I would suggest that his income should NOT be a factor in determining her maintenance.

IMHO, whether you marry somebody poor, or somebody rich, it should make no difference - you should come out of the marriage the way you went in.

Okay, if my wife chooses to give me £100k during the marriage, that's her choice, and she shouldn't be able to demand it back upon divorce. In the same way that if I give a tenner to my dad, it's just a gift, and he should not take it for granted that I will carry on giving him money.

But nobody should profit from marriage/divorce. Otherwise it's a recipe for disaster - it encourages gold-diggers.

In a nutshell: my answer is "the same minimum/'reasonable' amount that anyone else would get in that situation". His wage should not be factored in.

an argument or to argue is to disagree, a debate is a disscussion.

In case you missed LiquidEyes post... "Argument"... A discussion in which disagreement is expressed; a debate.

I did at the start when I said it was a dangerous precedent.

I read through the rest of the arguements and found it tiresome as people were repeatedly failing to grasp what Andy was trying to say.

It just turned into a WI meeting about how men are bastards basically. Top marks all round to all involved.
