House and "funky"

ageeed 'at the end of the day who really cares' - i have 4 records boxes at home....house/trance/hard house and...commercial ....in the house one you will find - tribal,progressive,deep,funky and damn right dirty house...but I don't feel the need to organise them all within their own 'brand', as long as u keep within the boundaries..mix and match!

 

to me - garlands is what I would call 'funky' and sankeys I would call deeper more progy (big bass lines!) but that's just lightly summarising....touching the edges - so to speak

I think house is a main genre with subgenres coming off it.. funky, tribal, acid, progressive, american, deep, vocal etc etc etc and while some of the tunes in each of these categories may be slightly "funky" it doesnt take away from them bein in their gategories.. music is all about peoples opinion of it.. i may think somethin is funky, someone else may not etc etc!! Hope that makes sense, im a lil tired so prob doesnt make as much sense as id like it to
