CTW DJs LittleMissLoud Posted November 4, 2003 CTW DJs Share Posted November 4, 2003 Was this subject nicked from Harder Faster? I use the channels, as when I have played in a club, I assume the cross fader does not work (it usually doesn;t) Quote I'M HUNGRY!

CTW Members Nick G Posted November 4, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted November 4, 2003 Depends what I'm mixing. If it's Drum & Bass or Old Skool Garage, I tend to use the X fader cos it's easier to chop the beats/ bass up with that, but if I'm mixing most other forms of music, I usually use the channels so as to make the mix sound smoother and less 'bumpy'
CTW Moderators Maria Posted November 4, 2003 CTW Moderators Share Posted November 4, 2003 Channels. James uses the cross fader and he is wikid at it ! Quote ClubTheWorld.com's OFFICIAL Events Reviewer
CTW Members Mr Happy Posted November 4, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted November 4, 2003 used to use the cross fader, but taught myself out of it as i've heard bad stories about teh quality of the cross fader in (london) clubs. mind you - i do plan on implimenting a 3rd deck (just as soon as i leard to beat match ) so that kinda makes the cross fader redundant Quote Mr Happy's fishy fish MangaFish munch munch MSN & e-mail - mangafish@mangafish.net AOL - MangaMorgan Online mixes - http://www.mangafish.net/mixes/
Guest
you can still use the coss fader if you have channel assigns for the crossfader. But its quicker and easier (for mixing techno anyway) just using the sliders. I do a bit of both.

CTW Members Rob D Posted November 5, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted November 5, 2003 As I use 3 Decks and a badger, I find the channel faders the way ahead, but when scratching a crossfader is necessary. To combat [censored] mixers I take my DJM-600 with me where possible. Quote OSM aka Rob D www.aptrecordings.com
CTW Members Jimmy Posted November 5, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted November 5, 2003 I find myself using the crossfader alot more with techno for the same reasons as nick said, alot easier to cut but when Im mixing the tune in I usually use the channels
