CTW Members danniekavanagh Posted November 7, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted November 7, 2003 Piano House/Retro/Old Skool - similar stuff really! I specialise in this kind of music - for those that don't know 'Piano House' - If you heard the CD advertised, you'd deffo remember the tunes!! The majority of em' were massive club classics from the 90's Brothers n Sisters/K-Klass etc.. If you'd like some CDs with this stuff, you can find out where to get em' from on my site http://cheeky.anthems.com ** If you do go to my site.. please don't forget to come back to CTW - I don't wanna get banned/edited/accused of Site redirecting! ** The 'Retro Revealed' and 'Cheeky CD's' section names the kind of tunes referred to as Piano Hous/Retro I have a listing of numerous commercial albums that contain these kinds of tracks - alongside several live mixes of me playing these tunes at my classics night 'Cheeky!' Hope that helps!
CTW Members LiquidEyes Posted November 7, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted November 7, 2003 Some "piano house" is good. But it strikes me as a pointless pigeonhole. Why would anyone play a set of just piano house? It's like having a hard house set where every track has a hoovers in it, or a Euro trance set where every track has exactly the same fluffy" synth sound in it. CTW Members danniekavanagh Posted November 7, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted November 7, 2003 Yeah you are spot on there mate! When I play the club classics - I always break em' up with other anthems, cause if you play non-stop piano tunes back-to-back its does become very monotonous... Besides, there are literally thousands of club classics out there, so why not vary things a bit! A lot of us northerners refer to it as Italian House too. Like you said - its like hard house and horns!!
