I think you're slightly over-stating the underground-ness of house music. There's usually a token soul/disco-house type tune in the top 40 at any given time. I think it's been that way ever since Stardust, and going back further, stuff like Todd Terry. (Can't really comment on before that; I'm showing my youth!)

 

But yeah, I generally agree with what you've said. This one is definitely a cut above what usually gets in the charts. And nice one if it does get to number one. And well done for having been caning the track for ages.

I concur dude. A lot of people seem to think there is HARD HOUSE and everything that is not HARD HOUSE is FUNKY HOUSE!

 

Is there such a thing as "non-funky house"...?

 

I mean, good progressive house, good tech-house, good deep house etc are all FUNKY!

I can see where your coming from Liquid, but I fail to hear the "funk" in a lot of the stuff I play. Dont get me wrong, I have material that has a LOT of "funk" in...
