No cos each breakdown is different, different melodies, different chords, different basslines. The anticipation is there. With Karim and Techno what are you anticipating? A new hi hat? i like the way you've grouped karim with techno. i'm not even going to bother continuing this descussion when you've demonstrated such a blatant lack of knowlage btw, the "bang bang" style of techno is only a fraction of the techno around

I'm saying Techno on the one and Karim style Hard House on the other all drag on to much, where's all the breakdowns? Whats with standing around 5 minutes waiting for something to happen etc etc. I just don't see the appeal. LTM, clearly you've been listening to very poor examples of techno. I agree that some very crap techno sounds very repetitive. But a good techno set is amongst the most varied music you'll hear. Here's some decent techno (IMHO). It does start quite minimal, maybe a bit repetitive for your tastes, but let it run; let me know what you think. CTW Members LTM Posted July 13, 2004 Author CTW Members Share Posted July 13, 2004 (edited) I like the Techno that tiesto plays you know Frank Biazzi, Max Walder, Umek, Marco V, Picotto, Igor S and so on but the purist Techno that the "real" Techno fans like. Like Dave Clarke and Liebing I just don't know... It just drags on. It ain't for me thats just my opinion tho. CTW Members LiquidEyes Posted July 13, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted July 13, 2004 You might not be so keen on my stuff. What you've described sounds like the slightly "trancier" end of techno (which I also like); but most of what I like is at the more housey end of the techno spectrum. There's some Umek & Picotto on my mix. I have mixed feelings about Dave Clarke too - he plays some great stuff and some dull stuff too. I like some of his electro mixes (check out his World Service album).

Didn't like it I'm really not into that style of music, the mixing sounded good but some of these tracks had the same drum loop and bassline looping over and over again I just get so bored. I'm totally the opposite I lots of activity that is why I'm into the likes of Kai Tracid and Scot Project. There is one track in your mix that stood out for me in what I don't like about Techno. I think around the 26 minute mark it had formula one sounding fx zipping around that track just went on forever with the same bloody beat. As the mix neared the end it got better. The track at the end is amazing is that Picotto? Sounds like it. Quote http://www.myspace.com/jamesdownie
