serious issues Should life mean life?

just been reading a news cutting about a 2 year old girl that had her nose broke then her underware stuffed in her mouth while a 27 year old man raped her till she died, this man got 6 years inprisonment, but was let out in 4 he come out to rape 3 other children under the age of 5

 

is there something wrong with this countries judistral (sp?) system?

 

should there be more rehabilitation while they are inside?

 

should they be treated like they do in America? no tv, pool tables, football....but be locked up in there own little hamster cage for 22 hours per day?

 

should the death penalty be bought back for exeptional cases?

 

should life mean life, not 25 years then released in 15?

i am completely for bringing back the death sentence in extreme cases like this. that man obviously never shud have been allowed out into society again.

 

If you increase the punishment for doing inhumane acts like this then it will decrease the amount of occurences of this.

 

Overall all crime in this country requires harsher sentences especially repeat offenders and juries shud be told about previous related convictions.

Thats well out of order!! Fuckin sick.. I dont think he should be killed/have death penalty imposed on him but i do think he should have LIFE behind bars and stricter rules whilst behind bars.. none of this cushy prison life that people seem to be gettin these days!! I think with life behind bars in conditions that reflect what he has done, ie bein alone in a cell for 22 hrs of the day would torment/get to him more than bein killed as then he wouldnt have to suffer like he has made others suffer!!

yes life should meen life , but all depending on what that person has done , say rape , or pedos etc , thay should have special treatment, where thay r locked up 24-7 and have their bits cut off , that should b the law , as 4 murder , well life 4 a life i say

only problem with bring back the death sentence is this. What happens when a man or woman is committed to the death sentence and they are wrong? Who pays then? Who's the murderer then? Do we committ all that convicted this person to death with the same treatment that they did to them??

 

The fact is our system for finding criminals is in some areas of the UK appauling and has very high rates of accusing the wrong person. So for that reason no the death penality should not be brought back in.

 

Life, well i think when we understand our brains better i think we will be able to help these people more. They are now starting to find out that people that have such perverse behaviour could actually be mentally ill. So who's more at fault, the system for not realising it quicker before such a crime is committed of the person that is ill, or the person that is ill?

 

Any crime that is committed is wrong, hence why it's a crime. But like in medicine isn't it better to prevent the illness before it can take full effect?

 

I think it's better to try and understand these people, see how the brain is working to try and help them.

 

In the case of Huntly i blame the government for [censored] up. They are supposingly ment to have a system in place that stops people that have mental problems doing such acts. Yet lately more and more cases are in the news about mental patients that have killed someone after being released. I think the system should be tried and found guilty for letting such people back on the streets when it's obvious they are ill.

you can never be 100%. Even with DNA testing it can still be wrong. Yeah the chance is massive of it happening, but it's there!
