Phil - Can't understand why you're so hung up about Dave Pearce.

He's a cheesy dance DJ, that's what he does - you can't really slag him off for it. We're just the wrong target audience.

 

To be fair, he is supposed to be better live.

 

Like it or not, there is always going to be a market for the pop-dance crossover. I mean it's only cheesy Euro dance that got me into house music in the first place so I'm not going to write it off as [censored], even though I can't stand most of it now.

He played HH when I saw him this year and very good at that.

 

In an interview, he once said, he has no say about what tunes are played on Radio 1 apart from about 10 minutes worth at the end, he has to play what is perceived to be the most popular to the Radio 1 audiance at the time.

Have seen him play at Euphoria a couple of times - at Heaven and Eden and he was good without being spectacular.

 

He's obviously constrained by his playlist on Radio One and if it wasn't him some one else would just be fronting the show and then getting stick about their abilities as a DJ...
