Arrived at the evolution at about 10.40 and Mark EG was first on completely hammering out the tunes and already had a full but not crowded dancefloor. At 11 Mark EG stepped down and up stepped Paul Glazby. Not sure what he was playing but it almost cleared the dancefloor. On a wander round i entered the 2nd room to find Mark EG just about to get on for his classic trance set. It seems that everyone had followed him into the 2nd room as it quickly became packed (possibly why Glazby was playing to only 10 people). Im not sure what Mark EGs idea of classic trance is but he seemed to play a few classics along with a load of his usual stuff. Not quite up for dancing yet i took a wander back through to the main room and met Ninja from on here. Said hi, and then went off wandering back to the 2nd room as Paul Glazby wasnt playing any tunes i liked at all.

 

After Mark EG in the 2nd room Scott Brown came on. I'm not normally that into Hardcore but i had heard a lot about him so thought id give him a listen. OMFG had an amazing time dancing to him and also met some of the people i knew from Traffic (the cardiff uni hard dance society). Whilst he was good i can only dance to hardcore for a while so had another wander. Brian M was playing in the main room and next up was James Lawson. Had another stomp during these 2 and recognised a few tunes in James Lawsons set but cant remember ne . Next up was the headliners DuMonde. Playing hard trance to make u put ur hands in the air and make ur feet dance uncontrollably i was in heaven.

 

Went to bar to order another drink to find they've stopped serving alcohol. So here i was at 2.30 sobering up and not very impressed. Chatted with Ninja a bit more and suddenly smelt chips. Promptly needed food so went to diner to get some. Not a very useful thing to do when ur sobering up as it made me more sober.

 

Next up were Cally & Juice playing their normal mix of Hard Trance and Hardstyle. Filled the dancefloor even more than Dumonde. Meanwhile in the 2nd room Vortex was playing to a dancefloor of about 10 people and others in the seating around the dancefloor. During C & J set i got a bit bored due to lack of alcohol so went to bar to get a glass of tap water. on my 2nd glass the barman asked if i was ok cos i looked a bit fcked. I replied yeah im fine, im just sober cos uve stopped serving alcohol. Few mins l8r i saw them refilling the fridges. Decided at 5am that i wasnt going to dance any more so got my jacket, said goodbye to ninja and left.

 

Other comments about the night:

Oxygen bar

People - not many cybers or try hards which is the norm for bionic. therefore most were in shirts.

One guy kept coming up to me as he was wearing the same t-shirt as me. Irritated the hell out of me when he danced next to me.

 

Overall a good night but i do find now that Bionic is far too hardstyle orientated so i will be making less attendances unless its a really gud line-up.
