it always snows heavily between boxing day and New Years eve,

Yep! Last yr when I was in Canada ski-ing - was lush going out ski-ing, dog sledding and ice-skating on xmas day! Prob healthiest xmas I ever had! Spent the whole day outside! The hotel food was pants too so was def healthier there too tho didnt reckon so when they dished it up! - no turkey - aaghh on xmas day!

Yeah, but that doesn't count, does it ? It snows all year round in Scotchland.

Well that's to be expected when you only live in Scotland which is roughly 5 miles from the North Pole.
