CTW DJs Phil B Posted December 10, 2003 CTW DJs Share Posted December 10, 2003 the decks play plastic things called records, they play 33 & 45 rpm and have a pitch control where you can speed them up and slow them down, the mixer has channels so you can play both tunes at the same time by using the volume controls and the crossfader. simple enough for you? CTW Members goshow Posted December 10, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted December 10, 2003 Moo, i'd get em if i was thee. I've just sold a pair of DLP32's and a cheap Gemini mixer for £250. they aren't the best decks in the world but are all you'll ever need for learning/having a laugh. http://www.ecwuk.com/zdiscontinued/dlp32s.htm http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/electronics/turntables/soundlab_dlp32/_review_list/ Enjoy

Lids are really only dust covers so a crack wont really cause ne probs - Soundlab DSM5 mixer. just had a look on the net for this and it looks pretty basic but will probably get the job done. Doesnt have equalisers it looks like but that isnt disastrous as i didnt have eqaulizers for a good yr and a half and it didnt affect my learning. They are more an advanced thing to make ur mixes sound better. But not worth having straight away if u dont know if ur gonna like doing it. I say get them. Worth the cheap price. If u do get them remember that practice is how to get good at mixing not having lessons. Pointers from mates shud be all u need and are very useful so listen to them. U'll also need a pair of headphones as well but if u want some cheap ones £20 will get u a semi decent pair that will get u started. I have found that since using eqs i have made mistakes i wudnt norm have made as i have hidden behind the cleaner sound eqs make mixing if there is a mistake. Since realising this i have changed my use of them to minimalistic but it does depend on the track Quote I was going to post a gag about flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality but it's just flogging a dead horse.
