I know Berhinger isn't the best name in sound equipment but these speakers are decent quality. Or save yourself a grand and buy some Mackie 824 or Dynaudios BM6A's Now they are f*cking amazing ! CTW Members LiquidEyes Posted December 18, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted December 18, 2003 Why active monitors? Is it a matter of convenience (no room for the amp)? You could get a fantastic amp & passive monitors for that price. I paid about £350 for a pair of Spirit Absolute Zeros plus a Samson Servo-170 amp (these are probably both cheaper now). Had them for about 5-6 years now, they're fantastic. Sorry I know very little about active speakers so I can't help you really.

No not a matter convenience mate, I will still run my other 4 speakers from my main amp, i just want a pair of seperate monitors that i can plug into my mixer, so i can use them purely as monitors instead of listening to the main speakers. I know it's only on a small scale but still want it set up correctly, so i can contol the volume seperately from the monitors than that of the other speakers. Don't really want 2 amps so thats why i was opting for active. cheers anyway mate Ian: is the bass quiet heavy on the ones you use as i've heard form various people that it is a little too much.... guess its down to personal opinions really?
