Dance music is dead - Here we go again

Good article, I'm inclined to agree with the view that guitar music is becoming more popular these days.

The author is hardly full of [censored]:

Dance may no longer be all-powerful, but the pared-down scene is both passionate and intense. Certainly, Matt Priest has no plans to take dance off the Radio One schedules. "People in dance are having to work harder but the results are better," he says. "What you have left is the clubbers who know exactly who they want and who they want to get it from. It's got back to more of a party."

I don't do much on this planet, but David Blaine has taught me that I could do less!!

ok maybe full of [censored] was a bit harsh, but to me the guy came across as knowing nowt about music.......

Fashionably dishevelled and happily preparing to submit itself to an evening of brutal aural assault, the Friday night crowd shuffles into London's best-known student venue. The musical diet is garage rock from The Dirty Switches and The Illegal Movers, mixed in with video images of skateboarders. Only two or three years ago, the University of London Union would have been offering the students entirely different Friday fare: cheesy house music

And two or 3 years b4 that it was brit pop and grunge..

To me music goes in circles, something that has been so popular as dance music wont die

did any of you actually read it?

i agree with most of it...

its last paragraph best sums up the piece

I read it. In my eyes 'guitar' music never really went anywhere, its been popular for well over 50 yrs and will be for another 50 im sure.

I dont think that dance music is any better than it was a few years ago, to be honest i think there is more badly produced music out there simple because anyone can make it now.
