Would you not agree that every club uses some sort of gimmick at one time or another? ie Tidy saying they would give away Andy Pickles Porsche at one of the Weekenders?

i wouldnt agree no. infact i would say very few clubs i've been to have used gimmics

it does tend to be more a hardhouse trend (maybe because there are so many hardhouse nights running every weekend they need some way to stand out?)

things like farly-time etc are cool as its a night based around a DJ. its just the 'secret' rave gimmics and 'free x to be one on the night' that strike me as more gimmicy than stubstance

I see what your saying, but don't agree 100%. Farley Time was a gimmick although based around a DJ. As I'm sure anyone would agree we have to keep coming up with ideas (some good some not so good) to keep the clubbing masses interested as like you say there are soo many different HH nights out there.... If you don't keep trying new things, people will get bored and that's not good for promoters, clubbers or our scene in general.... IMO!

Like Lisa said it's all in good fun...

farly time wasnt really gimmicy in any more of a way than 'farley headlining for 3 hours". which i was all for as it gave the DJ chance to do something a little more creative with his set time rather than just banging out the favourites.

just out of interest: do you have any eventsplanned that will deviate from the known (and in most ways comfortable) style of hardhouse. something a little more original or experimantal whilest still being in essance harddance?

just to add btw: thanx for the chat - i appretiate the chance to have a little say (and winge too lol)

My pleasure! I appreciate you saying how you feel. The only way promoters can continue is by hearing what the clubbers think - whether good, or bad...

We're always looking to do new things - Like Frantic vs Hardcore Heaven. It's something that hasn't been done before that we hoped (when planning it) it would create a lot of interest from both the HH and HC scene.

Frantic will always be recognised as a HardDance Club. Because of this we are using different nights dedicated to different sounds - ie UP is our House night that only plays House music. BBL is our new Trance night that only plays Trance (BTW the launch party for this is on Aug6th)...

... We all like to have a winge at times (I know I do), so I'm glad I could help... wink.gif
