Top DJ Sets of 2003

2003 was an awesome clubbing year for me and I'd be interested to hear what other people's fave sets of the year were. Here are mine...

1. Luke Neville - Serious @ Cross - 20.09.03

The departure of the King and didnt we know it. This set was absolute perfection. You could see that he had put months of thought into his track selection and the crowd adored him for it.

2. Eddie Halliwell - Gatecrasher @ Heaven - 30.05.03

Eddie completely blew me and those around me away. He was awesome and it was the most energetic, up for it DJ performance I had ever witnessed. Met StuJ randomly afterwards and we enthused about Eddie for ages and have become best mates ever since.

3. Simon Patterson - Serious @ Cross - 15.11.03

Simon's been consistently good all year, but this set took the biscuit for me as he carried the night and truly cemented the fact that the Serious Family had a new King. Luke would've been proud. It was a properly banging set.

4. Ferry Corsten - Judgement Sunday - 03.08.03

As we walked into Eden, Ferry was hammering Darren Tate's "There's No Other Love" and it was an awesome set which proved to be the perfect start to a bender which took in Circo-Loco at DC-10, Manumission, Bora Bora, Garlands @ Kanya and then Underwater at Pacha. Needless to say we were ruined on the Wednesday.

5. Tiesto - Global Gathering + Cream @ Amnesia - 26.07.03 + 07.08.03

Was privileged to see this Dutch Master twice in such a short space of time in two such different environments. Be it cold and wet because of the British Summertime or because you've just been blasted by an Amnesia Ice Cannon - Tiesto was still immense and he was really 'aving it behind the decks. PVD was more banging that night, but Tiesto took the show for me.

I'm sure I've probably missed loads others out, but those are my highlights.

Eric Morillo @ LUSH!, Portrush Oct 2003

Absolutely blew me away, A mixture of a SUPERB DJ, a SUPERB club and a SUPERB crowd. The best example of a dj feeding off the crowd and taking the night to another level.

Cheers Mate!

Thought I'd spend time composing a positive post to get away from all the other board goings on today... oh and I'm genuinely interested in other people's top sets of 2003!

It was the only time I met you and I think it was at the April Serious (19.04.03) - does that sound about right?

Re- AVB, I thought he was awesome at Global Gathering, but I remember an annoying MC detracting from his performance (I may be mixing him up with someone else though). That set would still deffo be in my top ten tho.

Luke Neville's final set at The Cross was pretty superb. I'm sure Sparly will remember when alkl of a sudden Mr Neville smashed Tic Toc.

Quality night.
