Mac audio recording

Got myself a MacBook before Christmas, didn’t have any intention of doing anything musically on it...but I’ve had a request for an old skool mix today and rather than use my old laptop, I wondered what was about to use on the Mac for recording mixes as my old software is pc only?

I’ll use my old laptop if I have to, but worth an ask first 👍🏻

Congrats ! Macs are awesome !  Wish i had switched sooner !

I have played with Traktor (PC & Mac) for mixing which is awesome but i dont really mix so others’ will be able to suggest alternatives ...

Cheers, I’ll have a look. I’ll have to check out what stuff I’ve got saved on my old drive, pretty sure I kept everything I had.

I can feel myself getting sucked back in to all this....

Coincidence or destiny? 😂😂😂

If it’s a simple wave editor to record through then check out

https://www.ocenaudio.com/en/whatis

it’s free and a great little wave editor

ive been using it for a few years now 👍

Audacity is good too..... and it’s also free

Ah, might have crossed wires, was looking for an audio recorder for recording a mix off decks/cdjs...will check that out @Tony P

Well we’ll have to see if it’s destiny 😉

Just found my old website files, all my samples and vst I’d collected, all my original wave files of my mixes, funny what you keep!

Best lesson I ever learnt - always keep & backup *everything* no matter how crap you think it might be at the time, also version everything

If you’ve got lots of digital tunes it makes sense to go that way. I got my cdjs to try and get myself back into mixing, but struggled to get that ‘buzz’ back. Will see how I get on now, times change! 😉
