Seriously, I did enjoy watching the original 3 films as a kid; but I thought Episode I was completely boring. (Haven't seen Episode II, is it really that much better than Episode I?)

 

I suspect the original films would seem rather less good if I watched them again now...?

 

I agree with the comments about CGI / special effects though. I hate excessive use of CGI. It's okay if they pull it off really really well, but there's nothing worse than "not quite good enough" CGI, and yeah I must admit that "old-fashioned" special effects had their charm!

 

On a similar topic, it really annoyed me when they started re-mastering all the original episodes of Red Dwarf, and putting pointless special effects in series 7-8. I thought part of the appeal of Red Dwarf was that "lo-fi" feel!

the thing i hate about ep 1 & 2 is that they have technology in it that does not exist in 4, 5 and 6

first time i watched ep 1 i hated it, but then again i was coming down off a lot of different drugs

 

i saw it recently and really enjoyed it, i loved ep 2 and i love the middle 3 films of copurse

 

all in all i think star wars has been doing pretty well, but i do hope the quality of no.3 is higher than the first 2, if just to shut the doubters up

Episode 2 was the biggest pile of schmaltzy cack I have seen in a long time. I couldn't even bring myself to watch the entire film all at once. I had to watch it in installments
