I'd call it "The Den of Iniquity" and there would be several small rooms full of cushions and turkish pipes and the bars would sell exotic bottled beers and deals of opium.

 

The music playing would be panned trip-hop with the only live music being bongo players.

 

If you're not there to get well fucked, you're not allowed in.

I would have 3 rooms.......

 

Room 1 - Trance & Hard Trance

 

with the likes of...........Guyver & Lee Haslam playing

 

Room 2 - Hardhouse & Hard NRG

 

with the likes of............Eddie Halliwell & Tidy Boys playing

 

Room 3 (Chill Out) - Funky House

 

with the likes of.............Junior Jack playing

 

I would have a 30K sound rig in rooms 2 & 3.

 

I would have plenty of decor & free stuff (CDs etc) & an ultimate Lighting system in rooms 2 & 3.

i recon i would do a hard house / hard trance / techno night and call it dilate

 

it would be 1 room plus chill out and first but then would start to plan the second room, i would hold it in the barn at lincoln

 

i would always have ace line ups and the residenbts would be colonel k, vewlos and myself

i'd probably have 4 rooms in all in my club

 

room 1: hard house / funky house / trance

 

(biggest room with three dance floors the dj box suspended in mid air with 3 walkways. the sound and lighting system being top notch)

 

room 2: chillout music ibiza style

 

(cute room with sofas / bean bags and cushions all over the place. quet sound system and low effect lighting)

 

room 3: Garage music

 

(good sized room with sound and lighting.)

 

room 4: dj's green room

 

(room with decks and a bar for dj's to mess around in with.)

 

small bars in all four rooms.

 

promos on the night. flyer discounts on door. first 10 people in to be vip's in the green room.

 

prices for the night: £4 with flyer / £5 without.

 

*now there used to be a cinema in liverpool called the ABC on the corner of lime street / church street which got boarded up. i don't know whether anyone's got it now but that place might be a good 'un coz it's 3 floors.!!*

I would like to run a 3 room night with a "showcase" theme to it.

 

It work one of two ways.

 

1) Instead of having a set genre for each room, I would play alongside 2 guest DJs. Each DJ takes over a room for the entire night. It is then down to them how they plan the musical progression in their own room. It would give so much flexibility, just because I book glazby doesnt mean he'll play hard house allnight, likewise if I booked Ferry corsten etc etc.

 

2) 3 rooms again, this time book 6 DJs. Have set genres for each room but each DJ plays a 1 hr set in a room then moves onto the next room and plays a set in there, then moves on etc etc. There would be a 1hre gap for each DJ between sets seeing as there are 6 DJs.

 

I would put a bit of effort into decor etc, but would prefer the music to speak for itself. Just have a decent venue, good DJs, good music, good crowd. keep overheads to a minimum so entry cost can be kept low.

i've thrown three parties of my own and they were all great fun. all the djs have been friends or friends of friends playing mostly psytrance. at the first one, a couple of friends played a live pa which rocked.

 

in all three cases, the clubs were dressed up with loads of xmas tree lights and magicglasses were everywhere. comfortable seats and free water are a must.
