Don't get me wrong I was massive on the old big bassline Speed Garage with those grimey 4/4 beats. Artists like Todd Edwards, Scott Garcia and Dextrous. Fucking loved it and still do, but then that two-step bollocks came about. Some of it's soulful and great like MJ Cole and Wookie but then you get wank like "Boom Boom Boom Selection" and "Lovin It Lovin It Lovin It" and now fucking Baby Cakes. It's poof music for London gals who wanna shake their arse whilst men in their bling pretend to be rich grinding with their bottle of champers in their hand. no.gif

I like the proper dirty urban stuff like More Fire and Dizzy Rascal tho.

What is your point? blink.gif

You could just as easily say "some trance is great, but then along came Ian Van Dahl and Ultrabeat". By your own admission, there WAS some good 2-step ... even some of the commercial stuff was good (e.g. "Moving' Too Fast" by The Artful Dodger).

If you selectively judge a genre by the shit tracks, then yes, you will come to the conclusion that the genre is shit!! scratchy.gif

I could go into more reasons why it's shit. Like when you go to a Garage club it's all so materialistic, bling bling, whose got the best Prada shoes, atitude, walking around drinking from a bottle of champers in your hand. Load of bollocks.

I wasn't talking about the scene, I was talking about the music.

I do agree that the 'bling' element is pretty sad (in my eyes).

But ... people from the garage scene might just as well say "you go to a hard house club and it's all sweaty pill-heads in baggy clothes ... no wonder you have to be fucked on E to like that music" etc etc!
