BREAKS

I am catching the breaks bug..... heard alot of it a fabric but didn't pay that much attention as was usually in the drum'n'bass room, loads of people at uni are into it but never gave it that much attention..... well finally, after going to a free party where thay played the dirtiest funkiest grimiest most-danceable-ist breaks EVER and it was SO FUCKING GOOD, I want MORE BREAKS!!!

 

So, who can recommend me any good breaks tunes/ albums? And more importantly, what breaks nights to go to, besides fabric/ chew the fat?

meat katie is generally accepted as the best Breaks night in the country

meat katie at bedrock was amazing. he kept switching between breaks and house. all quite hard and dark and techy. superb stuff

Plump DJs, Freq Nasty, Freestylers, Stanton Warriors are all awesome breaks Djs.

 

I would recommend the Freestylers album 'Pressure Point'. It was my favourite album last year

Ali B is my fave at the moment.

 

city rockers is meant to be good for breaks, but they play loads of electreo disco mostly.

If you go to Fabric this Friday I think there are 3 rooms all devoted to breaks

Any more nights to reccomend? Laurence I will probably sound extremely dense now, but is Bedrock prog in the main room (sasha and diggers innit?) ? And Breaks in another? Do they have all rooms open - what music do they play in them?

Yeah Bedrock is usually prog in the main room and breaks in a 2nd room.
