I've bought 2 Red Dwarf videos (Smeg Ups & Smeg Outs) and an 800mz pentium 3 processor which I later found out wont fit in my PC and isnt as good as the one I already have. Only cost £20 anyway so its no big deal.

I've sold about 10 videos on there aswell and a few old games of mine.

Ebay is OK, BUT before you go all "shop-a-holic", always make sure you read the product description carefully. A few peeps have been a bit careless and bought things like...

1. "A mint condition X-Box box" for $200 and thats all they got....the empty box the X-Box came in.

2. "A new folder for windows" ...sold for about £100 and they were sent the logo of a windows empty FOLDER via e:mail

..thats to name 2 of the several ridiculous purchases I've heard of. Because of the way the seller worded the descriptions, it was all legal and binding and the buyers couldnt do anything about it.

So take care. thumbsup.gif

Like Ginge says, read the description! But yeah, eBay rules, I have been quite addicted to buying stuff in the past.

The main thing to watch out for is stuff that might be stolen. You just gotta read between the lines - e.g. is somebody really gonna sell their legit copy of Microsoft Windows for a fiver? etc etc.

I've bought loads of DVDs from ebay. You should see some of the prices here in China for stuff!!!! Quality is good as well. Chinese are very difficult to haggle with, not like the Thai's.

1. You're a fool! smile.gif

2. I meant to say 'Windows XP';

3. It was just an example anyway; you can use a bit of common sense / research to work out whether something is likely to be pirated.

There's a saying: "if something seems too good to be true, it probably is".

That said, I've got some great bargains on eBay. Mainly 2nd hand records, and 2nd hand outboard (music hardware) for my home studio.
