Freaks in Clubs

This is exactly it, when we see someone, monged out & in a state, do we really know what chemical has caused it?? We just assume half the time & as you say pills can turn people into a mess too.

 

It is all about moderation at the end of the day & what chemicals suit you, if that makes sense, as not everyone gets along with all.

 

Happy fives are a prescription anti-depressant, big with the chinese at the mo & gradually working its way into clubland

D'you reckon it's partly to do with the slightly younger crowd that HH attracts too? It's quite 'easy to get into' music. And people do tend to move onto more 'refined' things after hard house.

 

Hard house is perceived by many as 'extreme', and perceptually extreme music (such as heavy metal etc) always attracts a certain crowd who are proactively trying to be different from the perceptual norm.

 

And in turn, younger/studenty types are more inclined to be a bit 'silly' on the substance abuse front...? (I know I was a stereotypical piss-head twat when I was a fresher at university!)

yeh, could be an age thing too, but I also think it's a wee bit unfair to pin point it all on every harddance event!! I have been to some, naming no names & it is full of young, mashed up, at times, idiots, yet I have been to some other hard events where they are not so off there face & young!!

 

Im not sure what it is like with the funky scene as do not really go to many events in that area, but in Hardhouse, yes its hard but the music can vary alot, IMO, you can get tunes that are made that are just bosh bosh boing boing, but you can also get some which I class as intellegent hardhouse or trance, which has, I call it a heart beat & feeling & actually takes you somewhere, ie Weirdo's music IMO is intellegent, I hope this makes sense & doesnt sound snobbish, as not ment that way

Just wanted to say i've been going to house/funky house nights for 4 years and ive always noticed this, not so much in the main club but at the afterparties.

 

WHY oh why do all the weirdo's go to afterparties?(me included )

 

i used to goto jo,jo's and the people in there were diabolical

really screwed up. not necassary because of the drugs but they are just plain dodgy!

one woman used to seriously scare me and my mates,she has short grey hair,medium age,drawn face,rat teeth,with holes for eyes ,she would bang her head against the wall,go upto peoples faces and groan at them,proper wrong

then there was this guy who would pick right up his nose in front of everyone and eat it!

others would just be freaky..

alot of the girls were ok but i met a few who wouldnt stop staring at themselves in the mirror while dancing,really staring and posing(so anoying)

me and my mates would eventually literally freak out and have to leave due to the weirdness

egg sometimes has this effect on me too.

however im not judging these people and im not stuck up etc ,if they spoke to me nicely i would definatly talk back and be friendly, but they were honestly WEIRD!!!!

That's what I mean, people like this, combined with mass drug taking = a scary environment. I specifically try to avoid afterparties (and certain venues in general) these days because of this.

 

The worst places for seeing scary stuff happen are raves - have seen some fucked up shit which I hope never to see again - at one, a bloke in his late twenties was in this little workman's cabin on top of this hill, next to where the sound system and DJ were. He had covered his face and hands in soil so they looked black, then he started completely freaking out and smashing up the cabin, he sliced up his hands breaking the glass and was covered in blood, then he ran down the hill leaving a trail of blood behind him. A few hours later on we saw him dancing away like normal

i always think that at at least one of them i might see a fit bloke for some eye candy,never the case though and i always leave disappointed and well and trully freaked out..

kitty you are so right about afterparties and afterclubs - for example at insomniacz there ised to be a weird man in his sevenites at least with a grey beard doing his funny little dance on his own

Did you actually read anything I wrote.... I think I have a right to be able to go clubbing and relax and enjoy myself without being harassed by fucktards on GB. Oh sorry, I'll just shut up and ignore them whilst I see them trying to grab random girls arses and generally pissing everyone off. If you're in a club with 1,500 other people it's slightly difficult not to pay attention to them.
