odd, maybe they are jus viewing the homepage? i dont understand why its registerd members only who can view posts though, not good for atracting new peeps. Inless this is because of another friging arguement?

oh and also i think it would count a guest as browsing if they were on that forum login screen.

They can browse any forum except those that are hidden from guests, I think that the smut forum was the only one that was "hidden" when that was around.

we're going to tighten up on the moderating and the membership registrations ...

 

From now on all members are required to log in to use the board, however I will be changing the Homepage so that page does display for guests.

 

The Invisible Mode may also be switched off soon - if people have to log in then only people logged in will see the who's online list and there's no longer a reason to hide.

 

This is a members site and I dont see an issue with only the members having access to it. We have a lot of anonymous people reading the forums and I want to encourage them to join and not sit out in the wings.

 

We're after people who actively get involved in the site and the meets at the end of the day. Many other sites are starting to use this approach and I definitely think its a good idea especially for this kind of site.

 

Remember that guests can always view our pics and read our reviews off the article pages to get a feel for what we're about here - I dont think for one minute it will turn people away, plus the site has grown and will continue to grow primarily by word of mouth.

Im always logged in as anonymous? ive tried loggin in and out but it still keeps me anonymous? i think it happened to a few other people any ideas why?
