CTW Members betty boop Posted September 14, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted September 14, 2004 What are your honest opinions on them. Do you think some people can take them way to seriously and get too wrapped up in them? Do you see them as a way to be someone else, a net persona if you like? Or do you see them as good fun, be yourself and have a laugh?
CTW Members Alex Posted September 14, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted September 14, 2004 Be yourself and have a laugh, oh and don't take it seriously.
CTW Members betty boop Posted September 14, 2004 Author CTW Members Share Posted September 14, 2004 Yes see thats how I see it to be Alex, yet I do use some other sites and have noticed some members seem to take things way too seriously and to heart etc etc, at times worrying. There are also some who are different in the flesh as to how they are on the chat forums also, some are nice on the boards yet sods of it and vise versa, why is this? Is it because it is easy to sit behind a screen and be who you want because you are not actually face to face or what? I also hate chat forum trolls who just post to cause a stir, this annoys me why do it. But I guess on the flip side they can at times make a dull board better but where do you draw the line? CTW Members Alex Posted September 14, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted September 14, 2004 I gave up worrying about that stuff a while back. Ignoring them is the best method.

I don't try to be different online, but I know a few CTW people thought I was different when they met me 'for real'... some others found I was exactly as expected. :shrugs: What Alex said -- just be yourself. CTW Members Phil rr Posted September 14, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted September 14, 2004 know what you mean Liquid. there's a wierd almost sub.....er...structure (not the word I'm looking for) that comes out of txt chat things.... you can be yourself instantly on a msg board, to loads of ppl, without actually knowing any of them. in 'real life' you would ONLY start to "be yourself" with ppl once you knew them properly, face to face etc...so on the net, you are you on a msg board...then once you meet them for real, even tho you've been you on there, you sort of have to re start being you, and starting to know ppl, again. Yeh I guess some people form an image in their head of how people look etc, but some people are different ie some are shy in real life compared to how they are on the board. But I agree with Alex & LE just try to be yourself & mainly have fun Quote Techno, Techno, Techno
