I prefer working 9-5, I like the routine of doing the same thing everyday.

I used to think that but left my last job cos it was just so boring amongst other things. I suppose having a routine is good though if everything is pretty exciting or you are really interested in it. when routine becomes monotony then its time to get out before your brain turns to mush !

What does everyone do then, with the weekend work/ shifts and wot not?

JESUS IS COMING..........LOOK BUSY
They call me the Wise Woman... For I am a woman .....and I am wise
Losing? I dont waste my time with it, Im just too busy looking good

when i worked at NTL, the shifts, at forst werent so bad. That was probably the best job I ever had as I thouroughly enjoyed it and the people I worked with (some of them) were absolutely ACE. I used to work 4 days out of 7. The rota was 'random'. I could be working for like, 2 days in a row and then have four off, or I could be working 2 days and have five off. 10 hour shifts, but I didn't mind as I loved my job and I was doing something completely different every day / hour. Even on my days off I couldn't wait for the days when it was time to go back to work again.

It was only untill we had a new manager, the hours / shifts changed to which, my social life was worked around my work. It bumped up to working 5 days out of 7 (although I didn't stick around that long to be part of it) starting between the hours of 8am and 12am.

I would LOVE to be back in a job, as it were, when I first became an employee of NTL. But when it comes to a typical day of getting out of bed, goign to work, coming home and going to bed non stop, then that type of job isn't for me. I am too young to have that kind of working life with my social interests (and the non stop stress that comes with it) !!

Haha, seemed like it.

Although I'm eventually going to work in a job where I start at 0800 and finish 1630 and have plenty to take home with me and work at the weekends.

Alex - I love the way you are purposefully not elaborating on exactly WHAT the job is - must be dodgy .... tongue.gif

yea when i say "9-5" what i mean is, a job where you get up each weekday morning, go to work, get home by say 6 in the evening, and 99% of the time have your weekends free. wink.gif
