Hard-disk based MP3 players

I'm not clued up at all about the latest mp3 players - I'm after a hard-disk based one - does anyone have any suggestions and ideas on price ? I know Sony have a new one out ?

Ive got an iPod mini mate, Funky widget it is too !

 

Tech;

4gb hd, usb2 and firewire.

Battery (internal - not removable) lasts 8hrs+, charges from usb/firewire

when plugged in pc appears as removable hd

Included software is a bit pants tho, cant just copy mp3's to hd either.

 

 

Hows that for a 'mini' review.?

ps. Have you seen those 300GIG external stackable HDs ? About £200 ! Perfect for backups, laptops etc.

u can get 20 gig players now

 

the copying mp3's over to hdd is probably a copyright thing - so you can't move files to your mates pc

 

havent been on the lookout for a player for a while (my creative jukebox got nicked from my car) but make sure it's got a USB 2.0 interface toherwise you'll be there all night waiting to put tunes on it

 

and make sure it goes loud enough, my rio mp3 cd player is alright but doesn't go very loud

Mine cost about £150 but that was from Hong Kong !

Not sure how much they are here.

There is a 20gb version but its a bigger size.

Got some Sony headphones too MDR-EX71

 

Very good at blocking external noise out and fairly loud too.

make sure it can actually play mp3's burned onto dvd...might just be dvd movies, cd's, and divx cd movies
