  3. So as I’m back in the clubbing scene and pretty much doing them straight headed I’m getting a better insight into the DJs and sets. Im Appreciating the music, dancing like I’m in my 20s again (legs hurt a lot more after these days and I have to wear ear plugs for events due to my job 😂) is there a place you would like reviews and I could start writing some? got a lot of events planned starting with convergence this weekend (insomniacz vs rebooted), goodgreef reunion in March, tidy weekend in April and the gathering festival in June. I was at back2bounce Saturday but I’ve also done insomniacz, passion x2, trance coda, love zoo (weirdest event and venue ever), our house warehouse Leeds and the triangle in Derby (new event) mainly seeing Lisa Pin up as she’s at every event we go to and an absolute kind soul and amazing person let me know if you would like me to write some reviews. I’m not big on getting many pics these days more videos of sets when I’m not dancing. and if anyone fancy’s any of the events let me know your welcome to join us or suggest somewhere else. much love to all.

Mixing Style: Master EQ, filter transitions, and create custom edits to make your mixes distinct. Energy Flow: Plan your set with smooth BPM transitions and mood shifts to maintain energy and excitement. Crowd Reading: Adapt to the vibe of the room while staying true to your core sound. 8. Want to keep the energy alive on the dancefloor? Great DJs master the art of reading the crowd. Here’s how: Watch for Energy Signals: Head-nodding and foot-tapping indicate medium energy, while synchronized cheers show peak engagement. Phone use or trips to the bar signal energy dips. Adapt to Crowd Movement: Track shifts between the dance core (high energy), mid-floor (medium energy), and peripheral zones (low energy). Engage Crowd Influencers: Spot key individuals who amplify energy and interact with them. Manage Energy Levels: Use BPM ranges (e.g., 110-120 for warm-up, 130+ for peak time) and mixing techniques like quick cuts or filter sweeps to control the vibe. Fix Energy Dips: Keep backup tracks ready (e.g., pop-dance crossovers) and adjust lighting and spacing to recover momentum. Pro Tip: Scan the entire room, not just the front row, and use tools like DJ software or lighting consoles to monitor energy shifts. The best DJs create a conversation with the crowd through music... 10. Harmonic mixing is a DJ technique that ensures smooth transitions by matching tracks based on their musical keys. It’s especially important in trance music, where melodies and emotional flow are key. Here’s what you need to know: Why Harmonic Mixing Matters: It keeps transitions smooth, avoids clashing melodies, and maintains the energy of your set. Tools to Use: The Camelot Wheel helps identify compatible keys (e.g., 8B pairs with 7B, 9B). Software like Mixed In Key automates key detection and energy analysis. Basic Techniques: Use EQ to balance frequencies during transitions, manage melodies to avoid clashes, and adjust pitch within 4% to preserve sound quality. Advanced Tips: Use mid/side EQ for track layering, set cue points for clean transitions, and organize your library by key and energy levels for live performances. View the full article
